
The Employees' Provident Fund Organization has prescribed that this programme is applicable in accordance with the provisions of the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. (EPFO). All businesses and organisations with a three-year history and 20 or more employees must register. For units with fewer employees, voluntary registration is accepted. In this system, contributions are made equally by the employer and the employee. If there are more than 20 employees, 12% of Basic + DA will be contributed. If there are fewer employees, the contribution is 10% of Basic + DA.
According to guidelines established by the Ministry of Labour and Employment's Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), this programme is applicable under the ESI Act of 1948. The establishments/units/factories that have 10 employees and receive INR 15,000 per month in income must register under this programme, with the employee contributing 75% of the pay and the employer 4.75% of the total (Except those employees earning INR 100 per day)w
